Patio Furniture Cushions

Is your patio furniture looking a little battered and beat up?

Why not dress up your patio with a low cost solution before your
next get together?

Here’s a simple solution to making your outdoor dining area pleasurable:

CHANGE THE CUSHIONS ON YOUR PATIO FURNITURE

I know that sounds obvious but you will be surprised at the results it can make.

Follow along as I show you how to measure your furniture to make sure your
purchase cushions that fit.

1. Remove your old cushions and lay them down on a flat surface. (You may have one of
these 3 types of cushions . . . seat cover only, seat and back cover, orĀ  a hinged one-piece seat and
back covers)

2. Measure the entire length of the cushion from top to bottom.

3. Measure the depth of the “seat” part of the cushion, top to bottom.

4. Measure the thickness of the cushion. (the part from the ground up, will be the
smallest measurement) Remember with years of wear and tear cushions flatten out with time
. Also buttons tend to squash the down a bit more.

Here are a few guidelines for thickness:

Wooden and wrought iron outdoor furniture cushions run about 2-3″ thick

Aluminum runs a bit thicker with 3-5″ being the norm.

PVC tops out around 4-5″ thick

While furniture with deep seating you should stick some where around 5″ thick to be on
the safe side.

What if you don’t have cushions in your chair?

1. Measure the width between the arms. Make sure you don’t measure outside the arms.

2. Measure the depth of the seat. This is the distance from the front of the chair to
the back.

3. Measure the height of the seat back. This is the part of the chair you lean against.

After you have written down your measurements, decided on the thickness that best fits
that particular piece of furniture.
